8 Gift Ideas For Fibromyalgia Sufferers

GiftGifts can be tricky for anyone, when it comes to finding something for a fibro sufferer it can’t be even harder. Certain body washes can give a rash, perfumes can cause headaches and other gifts simply are not able to be enjoyed. So I polled our audience on our facebook page and put together a nice little list of things to consider next time you are looking for a gift for someone with fibromyalgia.

1. Gift Certificate For A Massage

There is an increasing amount of training and popularity for fibro targeted massages. I would wager that there is someone in your area specializing in fibromyalgia massages. What a perfect gift to help your friend or loved one relax and relieve some pain!

2. Heated Blanket

A heated blanket is a great gift idea to consider! Have you ever taken a nice warm blanket out of the dryer and wrapped yourself in it? The warmth on your body just feels so good!  Most will have a dial that lets you choose the level of heat and if you get to hot you can simply turn off the blanket until you are ready for the heat again.

3. Heating Pads

Similar to a heated blanket a heating pad can offer targeted heat to areas that are hurting most. Especially popular to women with cramping and aching, a heating pad can offer some much needed comfort.

4. Cozy Warm Socks

I was surprised to read how many people thought cozy socks were the perfect gift. I guess there is nothing quite like putting on  a brand new pair of cozy warm socks. Please remember to find socks that the fabric is soft and flexible and not to hard or tight :)

5. Epson Salt

If you are on a budget a nice gift to consider is epson bath salt. This salt in a warm bath really does wonders for sore muscles and also helps promote relation.

6. Maid service

Imagine a group of workers coming in and giving their place a DEEP clean, all that spring cleaning that they aren’t able to do… that would most likely be their most favorite gift!

7. Fibromyalgia Related Books

If your friend or loved one is newly diagnosed or just really struggling with symptoms, an easy-to-understand book might really help. There are a lot of good books are out there, but there is also a lot of junk. We are proud to offer our own book here as well :)

8. Green, is usually the right color

It might not always be appropriate, but often times a visa gift card or money would do a lot to help more than a physical gift could. Often times those with fibro have a hard time financially with having a harder time working, larger medical and medicinal bills, and a little extra cash might relieve some stress.

I am sure there are a ton of other great ideas, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
